About us

Belgian Offshore Platform (BOP) is the association of investors and owners of wind farms in the Belgian North Sea. BOP was founded in 2011 to advocate for the development of wind energy in the Belgian North Sea. Offshore wind farms currently represent one installed capacity of 2,262 MW in the Belgian North Sea. They can generate an average of 8 TWh of green energy per year, or approximately 10%of the total electricity demand in Belgium. By 2040, offshore wind capacity in the North Sea will continue grow to 6 to 8 GW, so that approximately 30% of the electricity demand in the Belgian North Sea will be generated.
